J. Boutin is a boutique winery in the Northern Rhône, founded by renowned winemaker Stéphane Vedeau as a tribute to his mother, Jeannine Boutin. Drawing on his deep understanding of Rhône terroir, Stéphane focuses on small, exceptional vineyard parcels across Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Hermitage and Côte-Rôtie. Each site is carefully tended with organic principles and low yields, producing grapes of remarkable intensity and character. In the cellar, J. Boutin embraces a minimal-intervention philosophy – hand harvesting, natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and ageing in older oak to preserve the purity of fruit and expression of place. The resulting wines are elegant and authentic, showcasing the finesse, minerality and depth that define the great Syrah of the Northern Rhône.
