Vina Aquitania
Maipo Alto / Malleco Valley, Chile
Viña Aquitania is the result of a partnership between four renowned winemakers: Bruno Prats (Château Cos d'Estournel, Bordeaux), Paul Pontallier (Château Margaux, Bordeaux), Ghislain de Montgolfier (Champagne Bollinger), and Felipe de Solminihac, a respected Chilean winemaker. United by their passion for elegant, terroir-driven wines, they founded the winery in the early 1990s, combining Old World expertise with Chile's unique terroir. In 1990 they acquired 18 hectares in Peñalolen within the city of Santiago: This place at the footsteps of the Andes Mountains, is located in the "Quebrada de Macul", in the historic heart of the Maipo Valley. Peñalolén Vineyard (Maipo Valley): Located at the foot of the Andes, this 18-hectare site produces structured and refined reds, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon, influenced by cool mountain breezes and rocky soils. Malleco Vineyard (Traiguén, Southern Chile): A cooler-climate site ideal for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this vineyard brings freshness, finesse, and vibrant acidity to the wines. Together, these vineyards reflect Aquitania's commitment to crafting wines of distinction and balance.
